A strong submission should clearly identify its contribution and evaluate it appropriately.

System Demonstrations

Submissions include a 6-page paper (plus unlimited references and 2-page appendix), a 2.5-minute demonstration video, and a link to a live demo or installable package. Accepted papers are published in a companion volume of the proceedings.

Student Research Workshop Papers

Two categories: Research Papers (up to 8 pages for long, 4 pages for short, with one extra page after acceptance) and Thesis Proposals (up to 8 pages, with one extra page after acceptance). All must include a dedicated 'Limitations' section. Submissions can be archival or non-archival.

Policies worth checking twice

Submissions must be original and unpublished; duplicate or substantially overlapping submissions will be desk rejected.
System Demonstration submissions must include a 6-page paper, a 2.5-minute video, and a link to a live demo or installable package; failure to provide these results in desk rejection.
Student Research Workshop papers must include a dedicated 'Limitations' section at the end of the paper; papers without it will be desk rejected.
Reviewing for System Demonstrations is single-blind; authors must include names and affiliations.
Reviewing for Student Research Workshop is double-blind; submissions must be anonymized.
Multiple submissions to the System Demonstrations track must have no significant overlap (>25%); violations result in desk rejection.
Submissions cannot be under review elsewhere during the ACL 2026 review period, including other conferences, workshops, journals, or ARR.
Ethical considerations are mandatory for papers involving sensitive data or tasks; papers failing to address ethical concerns will not be accepted.
