Long and Short Research Papers (Archival)

Original, unpublished work in English, following ACL two-column format, with long papers limited to 8 pages and short papers to 4 pages (excluding unlimited references and appendices). Must be anonymized and submitted via OpenReview.

Non-Archival Submissions

Includes abstracts, extended abstracts, or papers previously published or under review; intended for ongoing research, theses, or industry systems. Not included in proceedings, not anonymized, and presented as lightning talks. No strict page limit, but must follow ACL format.

Industry Demonstrations

Submissions for industry systems are explicitly invited, though detailed guidelines are not provided beyond being part of the broader non-archival and presentation tracks.

Policies worth checking twice

Submissions must be anonymized for archival papers (long/short), using third-person wording for self-citations and removing identifying information.
Long papers are limited to 8 pages, short papers to 4 pages, excluding unlimited references and appendices; appendices are not guaranteed to be reviewed.
Preprints may be posted publicly during review with no anonymity period restriction, following the post-2024 ARR policy.
Multiple submissions to other venues are allowed, but authors must declare concurrent submissions; if accepted elsewhere, authors may choose whether to publish in ALTA proceedings or present non-archivally.
Non-archival submissions must include author names and affiliations and are not anonymized.
OpenReview profiles created with non-institutional emails (e.g., Gmail) require up to two weeks for moderation; institutional emails are approved automatically.
Camera-ready versions must be submitted by 6 November 2026, and proceedings will be published in the ACL Anthology and on the ALTA website.
