Policies worth checking twice

  • Submissions must be anonymized for long and short archival papers (third-person self-citations, no personal URLs, anonymized repositories).
  • Long papers are limited to 8 pages, short papers to 4 pages (excluding references and appendices); appendices are allowed but not guaranteed to be reviewed.
  • Preprints may be posted publicly during review with no anonymity period restrictions (following post-2024 ARR policy).
  • Multiple submissions to other venues are allowed, but authors must declare this at submission.
  • If a paper is accepted by ALTA and another venue, authors may choose whether to publish it in the ALTA proceedings or treat it as a non-archival presentation.
  • Non-archival submissions must include author names, affiliations, and citations of related publications; they are not anonymized.
  • OpenReview profiles created with non-institutional emails (e.g., Gmail) require up to two weeks for moderation; institutional emails are approved automatically.
  • Non-archival submissions are reviewed only by the ALTA executive committee for relevance and coherence, not for technical rigor.
