- Submissions must describe unpublished work and be written in English.
- Limitations and Ethics Statement sections are allowed and encouraged but not mandatory; they do not count toward the page limit.
- Submissions must follow the ARR formatting requirements.
- Multiple submission policy: *SEM does not prohibit submissions under consideration at another venue during the review period, but authors must declare this at submission time.
- There is no anonymity period requirement, following ACL and ARR policies.
- Authors are asked to explicitly identify the predominant research question type (linguistic phenomena, human behavior, or automatic language processing) in the submission form.
- Reviewers are asked to assess the potential lasting impact of each submission as part of their evaluation.
