Paper fit

Contribution paths

A strong submission should clearly identify its contribution and evaluate it appropriately.

Brave New Ideas (BNI) Papers

6–8 page papers presenting novel, exploratory solutions, new research visions, or fresh perspectives on existing problems in multimedia, with emphasis on conceptual leap and impact rather than state-of-the-art performance; may include proof-of-concept but not required to outperform baselines.

Regular Full Papers

6–8 page papers (plus up to 2 reference pages) presenting novel theoretical or algorithmic solutions to multimedia problems, requiring empirical results and state-of-the-art comparisons.

Policies worth checking twice

  • Papers must follow double-blind review guidelines: no author names, affiliations, or identifying information in the submission.
  • Dual submission to any ACM Multimedia track (BNI, Regular Paper, Datasets) or any other venue during the review period is prohibited and results in desk rejection.
  • Authors are limited to 10 submissions total across all tracks (BNI, Regular Paper, Datasets); 11th and subsequent submissions are desk-rejected.
  • Author lists cannot be changed after the abstract submission deadline; only typos may be corrected.
  • Paper titles must remain unchanged between submission and camera-ready version.
  • Supplementary material must be uploaded separately and cannot exceed 50MB; no appendixes allowed in the main paper.
  • All authors must have complete and accurate OpenReview profiles with institutional affiliations; incomplete profiles lead to desk rejection.
