ACM International Conference on the Foundations of Software Engineering
FSE 2027 is the ACM International Conference on the Foundations of Software Engineering, an internationally renowned forum for researchers, practitioners, and educators to present and discuss innovations, trends, and challenges in software engineering. The conference brings together experts from academia and industry to exchange research results and practical applications across all areas of software engineering, and will be held in person in Shenzhen, China, in July 2027.

Policies worth checking twice
- Workshop proposals must be up to 4 pages and are not subject to double-blind review.
- FSE 2027 forbids organizers and their directly supervised students, postdocs, and employees from submitting papers to their own workshops.
- All submissions must comply with ACM Publications Policies, including the policy on Research Involving Human Participants and Subjects.
- Workshops must include an option for submission of 'extended abstracts' (≤5 pages) that are free of ACM Article Processing Charges (APCs).
- Short papers are charged, but 'extended abstracts' are not (as per ACM's classification).
- FSE is an in-person event; remote presentations are not supported except in emergencies due to logistical limitations.
- ACM is fully transitioning to Open Access; authors from non-participating institutions must pay APCs unless eligible for a waiver.
