Policies worth checking twice
- Double-anonymous review is employed in many tracks to reduce bias; authors must omit names, refer to their own work in the third person, and avoid non-anonymous supplementary materials during review.
- Authors must not cite unpublished work under review elsewhere to avoid double submission.
- Industry and academic affiliations, including company names, must be anonymized to reduce institutional status bias.
- If data cannot be shared due to confidentiality or privacy constraints, authors must state the reason in both the submission form and paper.
- Sharing subsets of data (e.g., anonymized or aggregated data), analysis scripts, or procedures is strongly encouraged when possible.
- Qualitative research must provide detailed transparency on context, participant selection, data collection, and analysis methods to support credibility.
- Authors may disseminate non-anonymized versions of their work publicly (e.g., on arXiv) but must not state that it is under submission to ICSE 2027.
- Shadow PC participants must adhere to the same ethical standards as regular PC members, including confidentiality, conflict of interest rules, and AI-use restrictions.
