The MICCAI Educational Challenge (MEC) 2026 is an initiative by the MICCAI Student Board to build a community-driven library of educational materials in medical image computing and computer-assisted interventions. It encourages submissions that go beyond generic overviews, emphasizing first-hand experiences, runnable code on real medical data, clinical perspectives, and insights that AI tools cannot easily replicate.

  • Text submissions must not exceed 4000 words (excluding references).
  • Slide presentations must not exceed 40 slides.
  • Videos must not exceed 20 minutes.
  • Previously published tutorial papers from past MICCAI conferences are not eligible.
  • AI tools may be used for drafting or editing, but their use must be clearly disclosed.
  • Submissions must not be primarily AI-generated; substantive value must originate from the author(s).
  • Submissions must be made publicly and freely available on the MEC website upon acceptance.
