NortheastGenAI 2026 is a virtual, free workshop focused on AI-assisted research for Northeast India, a region with over 200 languages and rich cultural and ecological systems largely absent from global AI research. Inspired by Agents4Science 2025, it emphasizes transparency, open review, and human oversight, with all submissions and reviews publicly visible on OpenReview and proceedings published under CC-BY-4.0 by Northeast Langchive.

Policies worth checking twice

Submissions must be substantially generated or assisted by an AI system with clear disclosure of model, generation date, and primary prompt.
Failure to disclose AI use results in desk rejection.
Papers must be maximum 4 pages excluding references and use the provided Word template or equivalent academic format (ACL, LREC, Springer).
All submissions must engage with one of the three tracks with a clear Northeast India focus.
Grounding is required: submissions must include at least one dataset, field reference, citation, or empirical observation related to Northeast India.
Exploratory work, negative results, pilot studies, and early-stage ideas are welcome.
Submissions are non-archival; authors may submit extended versions to other venues.
No submission, review, or attendance fees.
