REG2026 is a challenge focused on generating pathology reports from whole slide images (WSIs) while explicitly modeling pathologist-like diagnostic reasoning. It builds on REG2025 by introducing structured reasoning trajectories to improve clinical correctness and evaluation beyond surface-level text metrics, targeting agentic AI systems that plan, use tools, and make multi-step decisions.

Policies worth checking twice

  • Participation requires a verified Grand Challenge account.
  • Participants may not use challenge data for conference papers, preprints, or journal articles until the official challenge meta paper and proceedings are publicly available.
  • Prior written permission from organizers is required for any exception to data usage restrictions.
  • Each team is allowed up to 3 submissions in Test Phase 1 and only 1 submission in Test Phase 2.
  • Debug phase allows up to 10 submissions for pipeline validation without using Test phase slots.
  • Participants must submit both a challenge paper via OpenReview and a code repository for final evaluation eligibility.
