Workshop on Scientific Methods for Understanding Deep Learning
The SciForDL 2026 workshop, held in conjunction with ICLR 2026, promotes a scientific approach to understanding deep learning through controlled experiments and empirical analysis, rather than relying solely on theoretical proofs or performance improvements. It aims to build a community around studies that validate or falsify hypotheses, uncover empirical regularities, and bridge theory with practice, even if they fall outside traditional conference acceptance criteria.
