SHROOM-Visions 2026 is a shared task focused on detecting and classifying fine-grained hallucinations in image-conditioned text outputs from vision-language models (LVLMs). It introduces a novel dataset with span-level annotations across four languages (Chinese, English, French, Italian) and four hallucination categories: Invention, Mischaracterization, OCR Problem, Miscounting, and Other.

A strong submission should clearly identify its contribution and evaluate it appropriately.

System description paper

Papers must be submitted as PDF using ACL style templates, up to four pages of main content, with optional Limitations and Ethical Considerations sections not counting toward the page limit. Must cite the dataset and task overview paper, and nominate a reciprocal reviewer.

  • Submissions must be anonymized for two-way review.
  • Papers must be self-contained; reviewers are not required to consider appendices.
  • Each team must nominate one author as a reciprocal reviewer who agrees to review at least two papers.
  • Participants may use any approach and external resources.
  • Submissions are allowed per language, and participants may work on any subset of languages.
  • Shared un-task papers (using the dataset for other purposes) are accepted upon direct contact with organizers.
