SOSP 2026 is the 32nd ACM Symposium on Operating Systems Principles, the premier forum for research and experience in computer systems software. It brings together academic and industrial participants to present innovative work on the design, implementation, analysis, and deployment of systems software, with a broad scope spanning operating systems, distributed systems, cloud computing, security, and intersections with architecture, networking, and machine learning.

A strong submission should clearly identify its contribution and evaluate it appropriately.
Posters
2-page abstracts presenting early-stage, thought-provoking, or novel work, including student research; accepted posters are presented in a dedicated session and do not require a full paper.
Workshops
Proposals for half- or full-day workshops and tutorials on relevant systems topics, with independent submission, review, and organization by external chairs.
Artifacts
Optional supplementary materials (code, data) submitted after paper acceptance for evaluation, with the possibility of earning artifact badges; submission is separate from the main paper.

Policies worth checking twice
- Submissions must be original, unpublished, and not under review elsewhere (no dual submission).
- Double-blind reviewing is enforced: authors must anonymize submissions, including project names and references to prior work.
- Papers must not exceed 12 pages of technical content (excluding references), formatted in two columns on A4 or US letter paper with 10pt font and 12pt leading.
- Bibliographic references are excluded from the page limit.
- Authors must include a 'Data Availability' section after the conclusion, stating whether code/data will be made public and which claims are reproducible.
- Supplementary material is allowed but not reviewed; the paper must stand alone without it.
- Resubmissions of previously rejected papers are permitted if substantially improved, with a summary of revisions provided.
- Prior workshop publication does not preclude submission, but authors must submit the prior version and explain new contributions.
