Contribution paths

A strong submission should clearly identify its contribution and evaluate it appropriately.

Regular papers

Should clearly identify and justify an advance in verification, abstract interpretation, or model checking; supported by experimental validation where applicable; evaluated on correctness, technical depth, significance, novelty, clarity, and elegance.

Tool papers

Should present a new tool, component, or novel extension to an existing tool; emphasize design and implementation; include theoretical foundations, functionality, practical capabilities, case studies, and experimental evaluation; authors are encouraged to make tools publicly available and submit an artifact.

Case studies

Describe the use of formal methods in new application domains or industrial settings; do not require original research but must present novel applications and evaluation; should discuss challenges of technology transfer and lessons learned; shorter papers are welcome.

Policies worth checking twice

  • Submissions must follow the Springer LNCS format.
  • All accepted papers will be published in Springer’s Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) series.
  • The corresponding author must complete and sign a License-to-Publish form for the camera-ready version.
  • Regular paper submissions undergo a double-blind review process; manuscripts must be properly anonymized.
  • Artifacts are optional but highly encouraged; artifact evaluation is single-blind and artifacts should not be anonymized.
  • References do not count toward the page limit.
  • Authors may include a clearly marked appendix after the references; reviewers are not required to read appendices.
  • Simultaneous submissions to other conferences with proceedings, or submissions of material already published elsewhere, are not permitted.
